“What’s the tea” is old slang from the disco era – the phrase can mean many things but mostly, “Tell me something juicy!” In that vein, the show – which airs Thursdays from September 20th through October 25th at 9 p.m. on Comcast’s Channel 95 – seeks to find and interview the most interesting people doing the most interesting stuff in Richmond.
Musicians, comedians, artists, businesspeople, health care professionals, politicians, restauranteurs, kooks, misfits and rabble-rousers all have a place on this unscripted program, which aims to discuss everything from nightlife to faith, sexuality to urban issues. It’ll be unlike anything done in recent Richmond history. It’ll be fun.
Malcolm Venable is a VCU graduate who worked as a reporter at various publications for over 10 years; now he works as a brand strategist at The Martin Agency. Malcolm will do most of the show’s interviews. … although he won’t be mounting this effort alone, a savvy team with a multitude of talents and contacts is here to put forth collective work to make a show for and about Richmond which guarantees success and lots of surprises.
