The RVA Bootleggers seek to bring a unique event revived from the past, Prohibition

Each year, The RVA Bootleggers seek to bring a unique event revived from the past, Prohibition.  We celebrate and embrace the ideas, themes and culture of the time, all for a good cause!  Our first year’s turnout was supported by almost 500 people from both those within and outside the service industry.  Our attendees were dressed of the times and danced the night away in the name of Prohibition!!

'What's the Tea?' airs on Comcast every Thurs. Sept. 20th through Oct. 26th - 9PM-10PM

“What’s the tea” is old slang from the disco era – the phrase can mean many things but mostly, “Tell me something juicy!” In that vein, the show – which airs Thursdays from September 20th through October 25th at 9 p.m. on Comcast’s Channel 95 – seeks to find and interview the most interesting people doing the most interesting stuff in Richmond.

whats the tea public accesss showMusicians, comedians, artists, businesspeople, health care professionals, politicians, restauranteurs, kooks, misfits and rabble-rousers all have a place on this unscripted program, which aims to discuss everything from nightlife to faith, sexuality to urban issues. It’ll be unlike anything done in recent Richmond history. It’ll be fun.

Malcolm Venable is a VCU graduate who worked as a reporter at various publications for over 10 years; now he works as a brand strategist at The Martin Agency. Malcolm will do most of the show’s interviews. … although he won’t be mounting this effort alone, a savvy team with a multitude of talents and contacts is here to put forth collective work to make a show for and about Richmond which guarantees success and lots of surprises.
